    Post-Vinyl Paradise

I know some of the reviews are lukewarm, but they're all wrong. This is the clearest, most distortion-free, full frequencied yet compact "hi fi system" on the market. It's not what I go to when playing my vinyl collection with a component rig costing me several thousand. But in the age of MP3's, internet sound, digital technology, this is the ONE (I'd also recommend the Tivoli Model One radio--I've purchased but been less happy with the Tivoli plastic products--but most of all you have to have AC-powered, preferably non-compressed sources--to get maximum reward from these wondrous machines. To the discerning ear, the Tivoli Hi Fi system is without equal--use it as a "clock radio" or mere CD player, if you don't mind self-indulging. Or employ it as your central music system. Both you and above all your music deserve it.

Not broken so never fixed but deeply discounted in price

The Tivoli Music System came out ahead in all of my side-by-side comparisons of it with other audiophile systems. The bass was "tighter," and the entire sonic canvas more clear and detailed that the $400 and above speaker-docks (Bose, Klipsch), thus justifying its price (!00% to 200% higher) to the fastidious listener. But now that Tivoli has reduced the price of these amazing machines by 1/2 to 2/3, regardless of color, they're a relative bargain.

Yes, they're "conservative" in terms of the controls, lay-out, certain "conveniences." But that means they're fashion- and fad-resistant (as we see speaker-docks and USB dropping in popularity). And Bluetooth, now available on tiny (and tinny) speakers for as little as $20, is still a novelty, in its infancy. It can be dicey, erratic and time-consuming to "pair" the devices, and the audio is necessarily inferior.

Admittedly, the Tivoli system can occasionally be a bit slow and even require re-starts, but in 5 years I've never had to have a repair. Short of the big, complicated and expensive systems of the 1970s, the Tivoli System is the highest quality stereo available., and now it's an irresistible value as well. (As currently priced, it's a far far greater value than the still-overpriced and underpowered portable iPal speaker.)

    Very Satisfied.

Amazing System! I had debated this for quite some time while waiting for the platinum series to restock. I ended up buying this system instead. The sound in wide mode is impressive. I hear components of the music I've never notice before. The sound seems to have a 3D quality. For me the CD is useless but I understand why it's still included. The next logical step is to add WiFi and internal static memory so you can just sync your music library to the system. (Tivoli?) My system is either connected to my home computer or ipod via AUX. Overall I would recommend this system to anyone looking for a top quality compact unit.

MSY: Tivoli Audio Music System - Love it...but

I purchased this unit when it was on a clearance sale by a well-known audio retailer. I had been thinking about it, but kept putting it off as too expensive. The price dropped and I bought it. The sound is really great. The highs are there and the bass is just right. If you're looking for a boom box like bass this is not your system. Radio tuning and reception is wonderful. The CD player is a little on the slow side, but is okay once it starts. I have a problem once in awhile where it will not accept the cd into the drive. The only way Ihave found to correct this is to unplug the unit and then plug it back it and try again. I guess I should have returned it for a new unit, but I just couldn't part with the dlightful sound. All-in-all, I am very happy with this great sounding unit. Go Tivoli!!!

MSY: Tivoli Audio Music System - Greatly Exceeded Expectations

When I opened the box, I was amazed at the visual beauty of this unit. Then I plugged it in and put on Die Walkure and was absolutely blown away by the fidelity and clarity of the sound. If you're looking for a thumping boombox, this isn't for you. But if you want the true dimensionality of a woodwind, violin, saxophone or soprano, either buy this system or be prepared to spend ALOT more money on top of the line high-end equipment. Marvelous engineering!

MSY: Tivoli Audio Music System - Excellent Alarm Clock

This system has an excellent alarm. Two settings. Very attractive. The problem is that the cd takes a while to load or eject, and it only takes one cd.

"The Tivoli Audio Music System is exactly what an all-in-one system should be: a cinch to operate. Its uncluttered interface and elegantly integrated functions are so intuitive that you can ignore the manual. (We had it up and running in two minutes.) The speakers emit enough sound to fill any bedroom or den. Set the audio on "SpacePhase" mode and blast tunes from wall to wall."
