For someone who deserves the best
Ignore the reviews that fail to see the superior quality and value of this achievement as the crowning jewel in Tivoli's product line. And don't limit your testing of it to favorite rock-pop guitar-led groups with mid-register vocals. Compare it with the full range of a Steinway or Bosendorfer grand piano, or with the N.Y. Philharmonic or Met, or with Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue," first track, from the opening notes of Chambers' deep acoustic bass to the searing horn of Trane to the clustered minimalist tones of Bill Evans' piano to the shimmering ride cymbal of Jimmy Cobb's uninterrupted support. It's all there, clearly, accurately, faithfully produced--high fidelity to the original audio source. Turn up the gain all the way. It won't distort. Try the three stage settings. It will spread out to cover your wall, even the longest horizontal one. Were that all, the sound would justify the price, but in addition you will receive the classic build quality and style--in deeply polished wood grains and metals--of an instrument and piece of furniture meant to last a lifetime. And not the least of the features is the CD player, since numerous CDs will remain in many collections, containing the electronic impulses of full and non-compressed audio impulses. Add the inputs and outputs for a future-proofed system. Finally, the eye and mind reel at the bonuses of ample pre-sets for those fortunate enough to have access to strong and clear FM signals along with a clock radio (on steroids). Use it as the primary audio system of your home or establishment--or as a bedside "self-indulgence" and daily "motivator"--the Tivoli Hi Fi / Audio System is American engineering, style, performance and value delivered in a compact physical package that belies its unparalleled enormous sound.
