My old Model One needed repair. I sent it to Tivoli Audio and in a week Tivoli sent me a new radio. How can it get any better?

I purchased my Tivoli Audio Model One radio one year ago while stationed in MA. My previous review on it is still onsite here, dated 1/12/12
This is a follow up on that same radio. My Model One had a small problem and although the technical people suggested a fix for it that I could do, the problem persisted. I contacted them again, obtained a return merchandise number, mailed it in to them and within days I received an e-mail saying a new Model One was on its way!
Everyone in this company I talked with or corresponded with was courteous, friendly and very helpful; and Tivoli did not hesitate in replacing my ailing Model One with no questions asked.
Customer service in many industries is at an all time low, but not at Tivoli Audio. I am extremely satisfied with both the product I purchased and the customer service they provided and I will not hesitate in buying another of their fabulous products!

I purchased this radio for my wife who is technology challenged... I figured two knobs and a tuner she could handle. She loves it. The sound is rich and full and it looks good in the kitchen. Tivoli Audio has two new fans!

Read about this radio in stereo mag few years back found one in perfect shape for 20$ at local goodwill. Had 2 but didnt want to be greedy so only bought 1 took it home pluged it in and was amazedBy sound coming out of such small radio good job who needs high priced bose!

Just received a very well taken care of Model One from someone that I know that didn't have a use for it. And I must say I am deeply impressed with the build quality and audio excellence from the variety of music that I listen to. It's my companion when I'm at home and working in my room.
It pulls in the stations well and sounds very clear. It often reminds me of Henry Kloss one of the pioneer of early quality sound who contributed so much to many of the Tivoli creations.

The Tivoli Model One is by far the greatest radio that I have ever listened to. After much research, and deliberation, I decided to purchase the Model One to have as a radio in my kitchen, to listen to my local NPR (Wyoming Public Radio) station. Needless to say, I am beyond impressed! Upon receiving my Model One, I began to question the price, as compared to the size (it is quite small). Once I listened to this little guy, I was sold...voices are deep, and rich, music is full and accurate. Reception is wonderful, even without the external antenna. The sound is without rival, despite being mono. Even at high volumes, which fill the upper level of my home with sound, distortion is non-existent. I now want to purchase one for every room in my home!

While wandering through the Natick (MA) Mall this morning waiting for the stores to open, I was drawn to the Tivoli Audio Store by the sight of some very small yet beautiful radios on display. I patiently waited for the store to open and I am so glad I waited.
I was greeted by a very friendly (and NO pressure to buy) salesman who gladly demonstrated several different models for me to enjoy.
Discovering I could also listen to my iPhone music (and Internet Radio stations) using The Connector sold this unit. Being here in MA on a four month work assignment was forcing me to listen to my favorite radio channels through a laptop, not the best sound even using external speakers.
I walked away from the store with a brand new Model One (and The Connector) and a short while later had everything easily connected and was enjoying one of my favorite radio stations from Atlanta over WiFi through my iPhone. Even my favorite rock songs come through clearly, crisply and boldly through this radio.
I cannot recommend this radio more highly and if you are within driving distance of this one and only Tivoli Audio Store do yourself a flavor and stop in and experience what they have for sale. It will be very difficult to leave that store empty handed!
And yes, this radio also brings in local radio stations much better than my small portable battery operated radio that travels with me.
I wish I could give the Model One more than five stars.....it deserves it!

We received this radio for Christmas with the designation that it was for the new garage...are you KIDDING??!! It is tooooo nice and the sound quality is amazing!! We enjoy it's retro look. The cord is heavy duty and long. We are keeping it in the kitchen area to enjoy every day..look out Bose! Thank you Santa :)

I purchased this radio many years ago. I already had a Henry Kloss Model 88 and enjoyed it very much. I wanted a small radio to take to work with me and I needs one that was not too large.
This radio filled my requirements.
The sound that comes from this very small radio is pure and clear. If you are in the market for a small radio with exceptional sound, this should work for you.

I've been using my Model One for a year now. It is without a doubt the best radio I have ever used. The FM reception is outstanding, using the built-in or external antenna, pulling in many stations I never knew existed in my area. It was like adding a whole new spectrum. The sound from the mono speaker is astounding with no distortion even at higher volume. The white power cord is very long with a flexible, high quality covering, unusual in consumer products. The tuning knob is a tactile joy to use.
My home receiver and Klipsch speakers don't get much use because the Model One is so satisfying. I can't imagine morning coffee with out my Tivoli.
My 21 year old daughter really likes the retro look, as do I.
I guarantee no buyers remorse with this purchase. Just beware that if you buy it as a gift you will have to have to have one yourself.

This is my first Tivoli radio and I must say that I absolutely love it. I have had other radios in the past but non sound like Tivoli. I haven't had any trouble with any of the radio stations and I get absolutely clear sound every time I turn it on. And it is cute in size and look. I have owned one of these for going on 5 years. I have never had any problems with it. The sound quality is excellent, it looks great and works as it is designed. One of the best features is the auxiliary input. I purchased a cable for $5 and this became an iPhone/ipod dock! Fantastic quality and craftsmanship! I have a Tivoli in almost every room, including my office at work. I have the first one in the kitchen that I bought when the radio was introduced. Still working perfectly. I have a second one on my desk where I work at home. In the living room, I have the stereo set up, with the CD player, plus bass. And in my bedroom I have the clock radio. I didn't buy these all at once, but gradually, unable to resist, I added to my collection. They provide a wonderful, warm, clear sound that is such good company, and, when I want, I can listen in a serious way on the stereo module. In the price range, and higher, these radios blow away the competition.

My 3yr. old Model Two has lost reception on the far end FM dial. My new Model One reads 4 marks higher on the dial than accurate. The now down- facing port makes harsh BASS on tile. A scrap of cloth underneath makes the difference. The sound is great, the cabinets are well made.

This is a great radio and I've enjoyed for the last couple of years. Unfortunately, my tuner was starting to degrade. A quick call to customer service and a suggestion to rotate the dial through its full motion for a couple of minutes resolved the issue. The radio is back to new. Thanks Tivoli!!

This radio is simply the best! Its beautifully constructed, easy to use and practical (complete with an extra long power cord and aux port). I had been reading and researching Tivoli radios for months. I'll be honest and say the design had to grow on me, and I was a little concerned about the sound of stero recording in the mono Model, after spending some time with the display models, I decided to take one home and 4 months in I couldn't be happier.
I was really looking a product that would enable me to expand my network of speakers, and increase my listening area. I decided to use a Tivoli Model One Radio with Apple's Airport Express to expand my audio system and take advantage of Apple's "Airplay". The Tivoli looks great, sounds unbelieveable full, handling deep bases extremely well. With the inclusion of the Tivoli Radio and Apple Airport Express I now have a seemless audio playback that fills my entire home.

I was recently at my sister's house sitting in her family room. While sitting there I noticed music in the background and couldn't help but notice how the clarity of the music filled the room. I started looking at her ceiling for speakers and around the room for the source of where the music was coming from. Finally I ask her,"where is this music coming from"? She laughted and pointed to a small radio sitting on a shelf. I said," you have got to be kidding me.!!! Well, she wasn't. I could not believe that something this small could produce a sound of such rich quality. As soon as I returned home I was online purchasing the Model One. You could count on one hand how many times I have made a purchase and just knew I would never regret it. The Tivoli Model One would be among the items I don't regret. If possible I would give it a 10 star rating!

Have had this radio since '03 and it is on most of the day in the kitchen. It picks out weak radio signals and has little drift. The simple classic design is very easy on the eye. The Model One delivers a rich sound quality far superior to much more expensive over engineered radios including a spectacularly deep lower end which is especially clear with classical music, wonderful!

I got this as a gift. I had never heard of Tivoli before. Now, my wife wants to get another one. We keep one at the bar, and she wants one she can take onto the patio. We use it with our iPod music, and this thing is crystal clear, and really thumps despite being small and portable. A great product.

I was referred to Tivoli by a friend who already purchased the Model One. I must say it took me a while to find a reseller as I live and work in Laos, South East Asia. On a trip to Australia I located a reseller and I bought The Model One strainght away. For the cost the quality of the radio and sound quality is just amazing. This must simply be the best radio I have had the pleasure of owning. I will be buying another radio for another room in the house very soon. I would even like one in the office sometimes. This radio is well worth it and you won't be dissapointed. Simply the best and I have now hesitation recommending this radio to a friend.

For me, there is no need to have an expensive stereo system that costs thousands of dollars when I have the Tivoli Model One Radio! I bought a Tivoli Model One Frost White radio in the airport in Houston as a close out floor model. I plugged it in while I was still in the store and was blown away by the clarity and presence of this small table radio. I love the precise analog tuning. The build quality is very good. The radio has some heft. Although squarish in design, it is modern and contemporary. It is nice to have found a table radio that does one thing very well, play music.

I have had two Model One's. The first developed noise when turning the tuning knob and was replaced, then the replacement developed the same problem. My iPal, has not has this problem. Neither has my original KLH Model One from the '70s.
All in all, though, once tuned, there's little drift and great sound.

I bought a Tweeter branded Model One radio from Tweeter just before they went out of
business. I use it next to my desktop computer and like the fact that it does not take up much desk space and has monaural reception,
which sounds better in poor reception areas than a stereo radio.
I am using a ribbon dipole antenna which I had to move around to find the best reception, due to interference from metal ductwork in the ceiling. Amplified desktop antennas will not work in this location. The only thing I would like to see added would be a front
mounted headphone jack. I like the convenience of the manual tuning knob, which is easier to roam through than a digital dial. I have a SONY CMT-EP505 micro hi-fi sitting on top of the model one, but only use it for playing cds and cassettes. The Model One gets much better reception and is easier to find stations on, as the SONY uses a digital tuner. It is hard to find quality like this in this age of disposable plastic radios. Keep up the good work.

I would have to say being an Audio aficionado for years and listening to various types of table radio's through out my years that the Tivoli Model One table radio has the most balanced and warm sound I have ever heard from a table radio. The FM tuner pulls in stations in my area that I had no idea existed. The convenience of having an Aux jack allows me to listen to my iPOD through this marvelous system. The minimalist design of the controls is exquisite along with the real wood cabinet. In this day and age of mass produced products that pay no attention to details the Model One by Tivoli stands head and shoulders above the rest of the radio offerings.

I received my Model One about 5 years ago and LOVE IT!! I love the design of the Model One. The deep full sound quality made me love it even more, combined by the fact that I can listen to my iPod as well as the radio. I have had my Model One Radio on my desk at work for the past 5 years. Just about everyone that comes into my office for the first time notices it and is blown away by its craftsmanship. Over the years I must say that approximately 10 of my co-workers have purchased a Model One for their office as well. I highly recommend the Tivoli Audio Model ONE Radio to everyone! This is a perfect gift for the person in your life that has "everything". If they don't have one of these already, this is a must!

Incredible ease of use, wonderful sound. This is a great radio. Thats all it is, no gimmicks, no nonsense approach to great audio.

Have this unit in the kitchen. We use it constantly for VPR in the morning and then switch over to satellite radio via the units aux port in the evening. Sound is like a fine wine...full bodied and wonderful. This unit replaced a Bose which stopped working just out of the warranty period.

I was trying to talk myself into the $500 alternative radio (with CD player) when a couple of reviews on the web said that the Tivoli Model One was a much better alternative for the price. I ordered both for a comparison and have wound up keeping both. The expensive one is in my modest sized living room and the Tivoli is in my bedroom providing great jazz and classical music. The Henry Kloss tuner on the Tivoli is as steady as advertised. I might have liked a digital tuner that would have allowed an accompanying remote, but I would not get as many stations.

I love my new Tivoli - it looks beautiful on my desk, is easily portable when I want to listen to it in another room, and the sound is clear as a bell, even for the harder-to-tune stations at the low end of the dial.

It's just the perfect small radio....simple and efficient. Hook up a rabbit ear antenna and it really pulls in distant stations cleanly.

Not everyone is looking for the massive wall of sound, there is something to be said for a pure sweet mono radio which has a great receiver circuit and reduced noise. This is such a radio . I have one of Kloss's radios from the 70's and it is still running, in mono very clearly in my kitchen, I have a Tivoli one at work and recently bought one as a valentines present for a lady friend who was complaining about reception. Its small and tasteful, clear and clean.

This little radio is serious darn business. Very Serious business.
I'm not a huge audiophile, but the sound is clear, crisp, and incredible.
It easily pulls in the weakest of stations.
I just moved from a large apartment into a rental room, for graduate school, and reluctantly gave up my unnecessarily complex stereo system. Honestly? This and my iPod replace it entire.

For years I searched for the perfect bathroom radio. I tried several brand name tabletop radios, large multiband radios and even "fashion" or "retro" style radios. None of them exhibited consistently good FM reception or sound, often drifting in and out of tune as one moved about the bathroom when getting ready in the morning for work. Then, I discovered the Tivoli Model One. Superior, warm sound, outstandingly stable FM reception and a furniture quality look to boot! This radio IS the perfect bathroom radio. Mine sits on a small glass shelf and continues to amaze me with its rich, warm, spacious sound. My search is finally over!

We have our Tivoli Model One in the kitchen and love that fact that we can receive radio signals from around Montana. We cannot get any radio signals with a standard radio so have not had one for years. This Model One was a gift that just keeps on giving; the sound is unbelievable and though a station may drop occasionally a retuning brings it back; after all we are 30 miles from anywhere. A Big Bang from a Little Box.

We have this radio in our kitchen at home, and it's on 24/7, and I must say that it's the best radio I've heard. The sound quality coming from it is amazing, and the look is very classy. With a limited number of buttons, the ease of opperation is unparalleled, and the reception that you can get with it is far better than anything else out there. Hands down, my absolute favourite radio.

I used to be a professional radio DJ and have been a fan of radio for decades. I love radios of all shapes and sizes. I bought this Tivoli radio after doing ALOT of research and reading of reviews. My wife, on the other hand, is very ignorant about radio and audio/video things in general. She's a layman who simply listens to whatever radio is around at the time. I have plugged our computer's soundcard output in the Aux input of this radio and use this radio as our computer's speakers. The first time my wife turned on the radio to listen to something on YouTube, she was blown away! She came out of the room (home office) and exclaimed, "Man, that's a really nice radio! It sounds great!" Understand, she just DOESN'T make statements like that. She has never given me an unsolicited opinion on any of my audio gizmos (iPods, radios, headphones, etc.). She simply doesn't care about that stuff...until THIS radio. She loves it!
In spite of what the other reviews may have already covered, allow to me reiterate that this radio has very good reception on both AM and FM bands and has very clear sound. Sensitivity is good and selectivity is also good; once you pull in a station you get it clearly without static and interference (at least that's been my experience). Also, once you tune in a station, the radio doesn't drift at all. It does come with an external wire tail antenna (and a place to plug it in for increase FM reception); however, I've NEVER had to use it once to get all the FM stations in my area.
The Tivoli Model One comes with an Auxilary input and the power switch has an Aux setting (in addition to the OFF, FM, AM settings). The rear of the unit also has several other very handy connections separate external AM and FM antennas, line out for recording, headphones, and an alternate DC power input (for using the radio in vehicles).
All of that said, mostly, I simply want to emphasize that this radio sounds so rich, so full, so deep and punchy that you will be VERY surprised...pleasantly surprised at how good this little radio sounds! I typically keep the volume at about 1/8th of full...yes, that's right; I barely turn it up at all and the sound FILLS the room and can disturb people watching TV in another room. The tone, the volume, the richness of sound is really more that you should expect from something this size. I'm confident that you'll be very happy with your purchase. I'm completely thrilled with my Model One. It's the best radio that I own.

I bought a Tivoli Model One to use in my office in place of the lousy computer speakers that were provided to me. The Model One takes up less space on my desk, sounds better (at both loud and soft volumes), looks fantastic, and adds radio to my office audio options. It picks up AM and FM stations better than all my coworkers' radios, and allows me to use my mp3 player without headphones.
I wish I had one in every room of my house!

My husband purchased on of these for his office and I liked the looks of it so much he bought me one for the kitchen. It's on most days for 6-8 hours and provides excellent sound and great reception plus it looks perfect in my kitchen.

I've had my cherry/cobalt Model One for nearly 5 years. I am still amazed at the sound everytime I turn it on. Sounds great with my iPod Touch and the tuner is top-shelf. If you're looking to get into your first Tivoli, this is the model to buy. Many wood, color combinations for any decor!!!

By it's clean, no-nonsense looks, the Model 1 table radio takes me back to WW II in the South Pacific when as a Marine pilot and communications officer I had to scrounge for decent equipment. By it's pure, accurate sound, it reminds me of how far advanced modern equipment can be. For me it represents the best of both worlds.

Such a simple design with such great sound. I live in a remote location in West Virginia and don't have many radio stations to choose from, but I receive more stations with this amazing radio than I ever have before. When I left my nonprofit a year ago, after 11 years of accomplishment and camaraderie, my colleagues asked what going away present I would like. I had been eying various Tivoli radios for some time. They looked so glorious with their pure design! I really wanted one to display on my white kitchen counter. I requested the Model One, in the cherry wood case. Lots of ohs-and-aws from folks who had never before seen this selection for a going away present!
Now, my Model One has pride of place and is much admired in my kitchen. For the first time in a very long time, I have the luxury of music and interesting programs - delivered in crystal-clear signals, to enjoy along with delicious recipes.
With the quality of that old-fashioned dial that works so well -- in a classic pure wood case that gives me so much visceral pleasure as it sits on my white kitchen counter -- what's old is new again.
Besides, I love bringing up that little green light as I tune stations almost impossible to register, and hold, on most of my other radios.

I received a Tivoli Model One with the extension speaker as a gift. Thanks to my brother, I now enjoy outstanding radio performance coupled with terrific audio. I especially value the cabinetry...solid cherry is a complement to my living space. It's almost the nicest furniture in my home! I find the audio response to be perhaps a bit bass-heavy, but I only notice this on male voices and it varies with the processing of each station I tune. It pulls in stations with clean audio from farther away than my larger home stereo. This is an excellent piece of equipment.

We loved our first Model One so much we bought a second for another room (& I got the iSongbook too!). Sound is amazing at all volume levels. Very strong analog tuner - you won't miss digital tuning with this radio at all. We listen to a lot of radio as well as plugging our iPods into the aux jack for music & podcasts.
Now to the title of this post - when we had our bathroom remodeled, we had a nook designed into the wall with an outlet in it that fits the Model One perfectly. Of course, if we ever move, we'll have to find something else that fits in there - because the Tivoli is coming with us!

Because it is something I use everyday in my kitchen, when xmas or birthdays come around I like to give people things I love.
I have given probably 5 for gifts and I always get comments later on in the year. I am sure when they open up the gift they think "a radio?" But sure enough about a month or two later I hear how much they love their new radio-some even tell me where they keep it in their homes and when they listen. You can tell they mean it.
I always know it will be a winner-it only takes a short while for them to be won over.

My wife knew I missed the sound quality that kept me company; she got me a Tivoli
that - is the modern descendant...of that
KLH radio - and with AM added....it is now
my daily companion...

We have our Tivoli Model One (a wedding gift) sitting in our living room near our television. We now find ourselves switching on the radio more often than our TV set. It's beautiful design makes this electronic addition easy to display and it has become a conversation piece for our friends. The sound suggests a larger speaker and it is easy to plug in our ipod with the supplied cable. Cheers to Tivoli for a product well made!

I'm also an owner of a Cambridge Soundworks Model 88, another Henry Kloss design, and so have fairly high standards. This is a wonderful radio that has a minimalist retro design, great Henry Kloss heritage, rich sound, and looks great anywhere in the house. Aside from my computer, this is the only other electronic thing I use the most. There are only 2 weaknesses with this radio, the AM reception isn't the greatest and the lack of an "Aux in" switch so you can leave your MP3 player plugged in w/o turning off the radio mode. Other than that, I love this thing.

I have 2 Model 1s, one in my office and one in the kitchen. This radio has excellent, natural sound. The midrange, which is the heart of all music, is natural and, in my opinion, audiophile-quality. The treble is good for a 3" speaker. The bass, while not subterranean, is accurate within its range; to Tivoli's credit, the radio never sounds boomy, as it does on just about all of the other premium small table radios, but one is definitely aware of the low frequencies. The tuner is very sensitive and pulls in quite a few stations in my suburban location. In my office, which is in the City, it pulls in even more, and is also able to deal with nearby strong stations without creating any "overload" on the dial. The operation of the radio is simple and it is easy to tune. At the price of $99, which is what I paid for each of mine, it was a steal; at the current price, not a steal, but still a good bang for the buck, so to speak.

Bottom line the Model One is a radio. I think a radio should locate a signal, lock on the signal, hold the signal, and produce high quality sound with minimal volume. The Model One does exactly that! My office at work is not large, basically 11x11. My volume is so low that standing just outside my door it is inaudible, but inside my office, I hear every word, every note, everything. The clarity of sound is so uncannily good, you won't understand until you hear it yourself. Oh, and by the way, the build quality is excellent, too! There are no frills with this model, just the bottom line best radio you can buy!

I'm listening to my Model One as I write this. The volume is turned down very low, but the sound is still rich and full. It's perfect for that clear background noise or for playing your favorite style music while you work. I also own the Model Two and Model Three at home. The Walnut look of my Model One matches my office decore. On Fridays I bring my Pioneer Inno XM satellite radio in and use it as an MP3 player to play my favorite recorded music and programs through my Model One. I can also use my Model One as a speaker on my computer when I need to. I love my model One. And it looks great! FM reception is the best of any radio I've tried. I can still pull in some radio stations with crystal clear reception and I'm in the middle of my office building.

The Model Oneis the best table radio we've ever had. We have tried all from cheep boom boxes to high end component set. Where we live is in a low area and we couldn't pick up anything but the most powerful FM stations until we got the Model One . The Model One picks up the weak collage FM station with only a simple set of rabbit ears (on the second floor) and it is clear and crisp.

I was a huge fan of Henry Kloss back in the day, and was quite interested when he began working with Tivoli. That alone was enough to convince me to buy a Model One. It has sounded fantastic since day one and though I think the more versatile Model Threes are nice, nothing will ever replace my Model One. A true classic!

Since the day I received, and started using , My 2 Tivoli Model One Radio's, the thrill of turning them on and listening to the radio, cd or mp3 has never lessened since day one.
The simplistic and purist appearance is deceiving as compared to the tonal eloquence and it's sophisticated circuitry.
The only fault that I find is the FM Tuning Drift. Does the Model One incorporate any type of AFC to stop this drift or am I encountering a reception problem?
Other than this minor inconvenience The Model One is truly a Gourmet Boutique Unit which I plan to enjoy for many years.

I purchased my Model One before Henry passed away, and it never ceases to amaze me. I first bought products designed by Henry Kloss when he established KLH in the 60's and have never been disappointed with any of them. I still own a KLH Model 24, KLH Model 11, Cambridge Soundworks Model 88CD and many speakers designed by Henry. The Model One Radio is what I use most, as it is convenient to place and amazes every one that hears it with the beautiful sound it produces. You can't go wrong with the Model One Radio!

Over early morning breakfasts, or while preparing for Thanksgiving dinner, our Model One has held an important place in our kitchen.
When just A and I, it's tuned to CBC - the Canadian version of PBS. When my daughter's have their choice, it is inevitably on Virgin 99.9.
But wherever it's tuned, the full rich sound has become an important part of our kitchen life.

This was bought mainly from Mr. Kloss's history - and for talk radio and some music listening. I have used it with/without an external AM loop, both the small coil and the larger tuned coil style, which it really works well with. You can operate near a computer LCD and 'null' them as a source of interference - the best AM table top radio I've ever used. FM - with just a hank of wire - is full quieting on all local stations - great audio for my favorite rock music.
My only fault - after several years - the tuning capacitor, driven by the vernier dial and tuning knob, became scratchy, eventually requiring dissassembly and spritzing with an aerosol contact cleaner to remedy. The average homeowner wouldn't do this. Otherwise, a fantastic radio - wish I could find a 'deal' on another one for my shop.

This radio has been great. I first would like to say that as a designer, the looks are sharp, clean and timeless. The sound quality is very good, room-filling is the right description. Although very basic in it's functions what it does do, it does very well. I would like to see something slightly more expandable in the same box, but it's good flying solo. 4/5 but only because nothing is perfect, really it's more like a 4.75/5, I'm very happy and have started to give them as corporate gifts.

Very elegant design, but also a no-nonsense radio with superior reception and clear-sounding speaker for music or voice, even at higher volumes. It's so good (I'm a hi-fi user accustomed to high-end turntables and components) that I got one for my father-in-law too. He loves the easy-tuning knob and the big clear sound that easily fills his double garage (and no tiny buttons to fiddle with!). Then I got another one for a close friend (who's also a hi-fi user), a very discriminating engineer. This radio has no useless blinking lights or fancy features, just sensitive reception, reliable controls and great sounds!

I bought my first Model One ten or more years ago, and it has continued to astound me with the rich crisp sound, ease of use, and relentless performance. I don't know about you, but until I discovered Tivoli I had never had anything electronic last for so long, without need of repair and without a gradual deterioration of look/feel/sound. These radios are fantastic--6 years ago I got my second, as a wedding gift, and have been equally delighted. You can't beat this radio for simplicity, elegance, and performance.

I've had this radio for several years. It was a huge purchase for me at the time budget wise, but i wanted a good quality radio. The radio was well worth the expense. I've used it every day for years. It looks good in any room. I've even dropped it with no ill effects. It really is indispensible to me and my family.

I cannot praise the Tivoli Model One highly enough. I have had mine for about 5 years now and to this day, I am continually impressed. The sound is rich and warm, yet exudes clarity and musical definition. FM reception is excellent, AM reception is good to very good, and the overall feel, ease of use, and build quality are second to none. I love the input and output on the back which allow you to plug in your mp3 player or other source, and you could even use the Model One as a tuner in your main stereo system. This radio is a great value; worth every penny and then some.

What's not to like about this radio? It's small, good looking, solidly built, and puts out excellent sound. I've purchased two so far, and should I have a need for a small radio elsewhere, this will always be my go-to radio. I stopped short of rating "excellent" on features, because I wish the Aux-in could be selected by a knob on the front, so I could leave the cord from my iPod in the jack permanently. Otherwise, this radio does everything it's built to do perfectly.

I love my Model One radio... the sound is amazing given the cabinet size, the design is very intuitive, and it supports and iPod input. I have this one in my guest room and it's great for the space, even matches the color scheme.

This radio has good sound, above average sensitivity, and great FM selectivity. It does have a couple of drawbacks: 1) The radio's amplifier makes an audible hiss that can be heard through the speaker when listening at low volume; 2) The power transformer inside of the radio introduces some hum into some of my other audio equipment. I had intended on using the Model One with my AM Hi-Fi transmitter so I could listen to my favorite stations on my vintage tube radios, but the power transformer in the radio introduces hum to the transmitter's broadcast. You won't get any hum when using the radio as a normal radio.

I use the Model 1 in my office to listen almost exclusively to AM broadcasts. I am in a fringe area and I get excellant reception except when the station I listen to has to redirect their broadcast antenna after sundown. I use the external AM loop antenna. By moving my antenna I can still get adequate reception after sundown. GREAT PRODUCT!!

I purchased this radio for my office (Model One Black/Silver). I wanted a basic radio with a simple audio input jack for my MP3 player, and that also looked professional. This radio fit the bill perfectly!
The manufacturing is wonderful - very high quality look and feel, perfect for my office desk. The sound quality is excellent, and the radio is able to pick up stations that no other radio in my office is able to receive. I am extremely happy with this radio and would recommend it to anyone.

This is the best radio one can buy for the office. The sound clarity is amazing, and the reception is excellent (even if you're surrounded by glass and steel, as I am). Even at acceptably low volumes, the bass comes through well. You'll never miss stereo sound; the mono speaker provides such rich reproduction that one could mistake it for a home rack system.
